CAPSA's mission is to provide safe, caring, and confidential shelter, advocacy and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assualt and to reduce incidents of abuse through prevention education. Your donations are essential in helping us achieve this mission.  Thank you for your support.

Together, we can provide a safe and caring place for people in our community who have unfortunately experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. Thank your for your support!

Since CAPSA is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we rely on the donations we receive from our generous community and from our annual fundraisers. All donations made to CAPSA are tax-deductible. That includes donations made to CAPSA as part of a CAPSA fundraiser.

In Kind Donations:

CAPSA is grateful for the generosity of our community members who donate goods to our shelter. If you are interested in donating items to CAPSA, please download our Wish List to find out what we are most in need of right now.

We are happy to accept most things that people donate, however there are a few items we cannot accept. Please read through this list, and do not bring these items to our shelter, as it is very costly and difficult for us to dispose of things we cannot use that are left at our building. If you do bring them, we will ask you to take them somewhere else for disposal. These items are:

  • Used mattresses and box springs
  • Used clothing (please donate used clothing to Somebody's Attic)
  • Broken appliances, or other items that are not in working condition
  • Broken furniture
  • Computers, monitors, or computer accessories that are not in working condition
  • Used child car seats

All donations made to CAPSA are tax-deductible. That includes donations made to CAPSA as part of a fundraiser (e.g. CAPSA Golf Tournament, Gift Wrap Booth).

Somebody's Attic:

Somebody’s Attic is a non-profit organization started in 1985 with the goal of generating funds to help local organizations fund abuse-prevention programs. As a result of the work of the volunteers and organizers involved, Somebody’s Attic has given back $1,132,000 to the Cache Valley community for abuse-prevention programs in the last 25 years.

The sale of all donated goods goes towards funding two abuse prevention and intervention agencies in Cache Valley: Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse (CAPSA) and The Child and Family Support Center(CFSC). Somebody’s Attic maintains a very collaborative relationship with the Deseret Industries and supports their mission.

Items to donate:

  • Furniture
  • Electronics
  • Kitchenware
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Toys
  • Videos and DVDs
  • Any sellable item that is in good shape
