NO more domestic violence or sexual assault
Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and providing education in order to prevent violence in our community. The organization began in 1976 as a group of concerned citizens, and continues today as a result of the help and support we receive from the community. Although many people think of CAPSA as an “abused women’s shelter”, we provide services to any victim of domestic violence or sexual assault, men or women, including men and women in same-sex relationships.
.
Our Mission
The mission of CAPSA is to provide safe, caring, and confidential shelter, advocacy, and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; and to reduce incidents of abuse through prevention education.
.
Our Philosophy
We believe in individual worth. We believe a person in an abusive situation has the right to understand the options available and be in control of his or her own decisions. We believe that individuals:
1. Have the right not to be abused.
2. Have the right to freedom from fear of abuse.
3. Have the right to choose available options and resources.
