Donate to CAPSA
All donations made to CAPSA are tax-deductible. That includes donations made to CAPSA as part of a fundraiser (e.g. CAPSA Golf Tournament, Gift Wrap Booth). Since 2003 CAPSA has received over $400,000 in monetary donations (excluding money donated during fundraisers) and in-kind donations like clothing, furniture, cars, and more.
To receive a receipt for donations: Please bring donations to our office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. You will be asked to fill out a slip of paper with your name, address, and the value of your donation (this can be an estimated value, if you do not know the exact value). If you wish to get a receipt for your donation for tax purposes, you must fill out this paper.
If you mail/send a check: Please make sure that the name and address that appear on the check are current. We will send a receipt for your donation to the address listed on the check.
If you mail/send a money order: Please include your name, address, and phone number with the money order so we are able to send you a receipt.

I want to donate other items
CAPSA is grateful for the generosity of our community members who donate goods to our shelter. If you are interested in donating items to CAPSA, please download our Wish List to find out what we are most in need of right now.
We are happy to accept most things that people donate, however there are a few items we cannot accept. Please read through this list, and do not bring these items to our shelter, as it is very costly and difficult for us to dispose of things we cannot use that are left at our building. If you do bring them, we will ask you to take them somewhere else for disposal. These items are:
- Used mattresses and box springs
- Used clothing (please donate used clothing to Somebody’s Attic)
- Broken appliances, or other items that are not in working condition
- Broken furniture
- Computers, monitors, or computer accessories that are not in working condition
- Used child car seats
