Each month we will share a unique pledge. As we come together, we will have the greatest impact in preventing and stopping harm and violence.

When you sign the pledge, you will include your email. You can expect to receive only ONE follow-up email. If you choose to donate and become a supporter of CAPSA, you will be added to our mail list. These donations make a life-saving difference.

Stalking affects countless individuals across the nation. Statistics show that 1 in 6 women and 1 in 17 men have experienced stalking in their lifetime, making it a pervasive and distressing issue. In Cache, Rich, and Franklin Counties, CAPSA stands as a beacon of hope for survivors, offering a lifeline to those grappling with the effects of stalking. CAPSA provides a comprehensive range of services, including counseling, safety planning, legal advocacy, and educational resources, to empower survivors and help them regain control over their lives. By spreading awareness and extending support, CAPSA plays a vital role in confronting the alarming prevalence of stalking and creating a safer, more resilient community.

Kindness is the cornerstone of a harmonious and compassionate community, and the practice of random acts of kindness holds immeasurable power in fostering positive change. In our collective pursuit of a safer community, organizations like CAPSA recognize that kindness is the first essential step in breaking the cycles of violence and abuse. By demonstrating empathy, offering a helping hand, or simply lending a compassionate ear, we can create an environment where survivors of abuse feel valued and empowered. CAPSA’s services, which encompass counseling, safety planning, legal advocacy, and more, work in tandem with kindness to provide survivors with the tools they need to heal, recover, and ultimately prevent the perpetuation of violence and abuse. I WILL ENGAGE IN COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS

Teen mental health is a pressing concern in our modern society, with alarming statistics underscoring the need for increased awareness and support. According to the CDC, around 16% of teenagers in the United States experience symptoms of depression, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among individuals aged 10-34. In these challenging times, it’s more vital than ever to regularly check in with the teens in our lives and foster open conversations about their mental well-being. Teens who are experiencing or have experienced abuse are at an increased risk of mental health disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, and suicide. CAPSA plays a crucial role in addressing this issue, offering essential services for children, youth, and teens struggling with the effects of abuse and violence. Moreover, CAPSA’s education department actively engages with our community’s teens through the Youth Council, providing a platform for empowerment, education, and peer support. By championing teen mental health awareness and ensuring that the necessary services and resources are readily available, we can collectively strive to create a safer and more empathetic environment for the young individuals in our community.

I SUPPORT SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

Sexual Assault Awareness Month serves as a poignant reminder of the pervasive issue of sexual assault that demands our collective attention. In Utah, statistics have revealed a disconcerting prevalence of sexual assault, with numerous individuals affected each year. As we strive to raise awareness and support survivors, CAPSA stands as our community’s expert service center, offering comprehensive and holistic recovery services for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. With a dedicated and compassionate team, CAPSA provides critical resources, including counseling, legal advocacy, and our Mobile Crisis Team, who accompany survivors to the hospital for rape exams as their personal advocate. These resources help survivors navigate the often-arduous path to healing and justice. In a time when the need for support is paramount, CAPSA’s unwavering commitment to addressing sexual assault is an essential beacon of hope in our community.
