What is Denim Day?

Denim Day began in 1999 as a response to an Italian court ruling that dismissed a sexual assault case because the victim had been wearing jeans. Women in the Italian Parliament wore denim in solidarity with the victim, sparking an international movement. Since then, every April, people worldwide wear denim to raise awareness about sexual violence, challenge victim-blaming attitudes, and advocate for justice and support for survivors. Denim Day symbolizes solidarity and resistance against sexual violence.

Wear Denim to Support

On the last Friday in April, we are asking community members to join in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence by wearing denim. This display shows survivors in our community that we believe them, support them and are here to help.

Denim Dollars

The work we do at CAPSA is made possible by the support of our community. To provide the life-saving support we offer, please consider donating a couple of dollars. Just as the impact increases the more individuals that wear denim, the same is true of donations. Small donations added together make a significant difference.
